Paolo Maestri and Catarina Maggi had 10 children. The oldest was Cesare Giuseppe born 1808 in Campi and died in New Orleans Sept. 1882. Cesare married Ursula Gardelli 1832 in Campi. They had 6 children; Natale was their sixth child.
Cesare’s brother, Lazaro was the seventh child of Paolo and Catarina. Lazaro married Angela Parodi. They had 11 children, Amelia was their eighth child, she married Natale (cousins) on Oct. 26, 1871 in St. James and Christopher Church in Campi. It is this church where most of the Italian records come. Neither Lazaro nor Angela left Campi.
The Maestri tomb of most of my family is on Avenue M (helps me to remember Maestri on M) running parallel to Metairie Road. Greenwood, across the way, is much more helpful and will give obits etc if they have on file which really helps to get family relationships.
Paola was a simple farmer in Campi Albareto, Italy.
